About Me

Hello friends!

I’m Madi.

I’m a writer, small business owner, educator, activist, yogi, and traveler. I like the things I like, and I fall madly passionate about them. This blog is my word vomit.

I relocated to Norfolk, Virginia, after years of living in Colorado, traveling all over the world, serving in the Peace Corps, and hiking the Appalachian Trail. And hubby, aka Ryan, has been by my side through it all. All the pretty pictures of me are taken by him, under my sassy direction of course.

Living on the East Coast, the beach has stolen my heart away from the mountains, for now. However, I am always in the process of planning my next getaway.  And since I’m not made of money, I travel on a budget. I hope to inspire all the “ballers on a budget” to travel more. Coming from one broke babe, I say it’s totally possible.

When I’m not traveling, I spend my days as a freelance travel writer and small business owner of a vintage clothing shop called Dizzy Dreamer Vintage. I sell cool stuff on there for both men and women. You should probably just go ahead and check it out already.

The name of my blog, “In Any Direction,” means more to me than just in travel terms. I think it’s important that we as humans think about all the directions our life can go in. I feel like we put ourselves into a box, but in reality our dreams are fluid. I want to have flexibility in life to go in any direction.

    1. Thank you love! That means so much to me! Start saving some money and then take the plunge. I moved from Austin, Texas to Colorado. I left my friends and family. Some will understand and some will not. That’s life. Your happiness is yours :} I appreciate the follow my dear and look forward to your posts as well!

  1. I’m excited about your blog because my best friend Kayla is just like you! I’ve already sent her a few links of yours and bought 2 things off your Etsy! Basically, I’m a fan 🙂

  2. If you haven’t through-hiked the Colorado Trail yet, I hope you get a chance to do it sometime soon. It’s beautiful and not far from your back yard.
